Two days . . . you must be joking ! . . .
Indy has had a burning desire to record a CD of his own songs with the band for quite a while. We have discussed it on and off during the past year and all concerned liked the idea. Indy offered to pay for studio time and found an excellent studio near Diss, Norfolk, which was prepared to record the band live.
And so it was that Indy did inform us that the studio dates were set . . . two days to record ten tracks !!

WARNING !!
Beware children, this is what recording a CD in two days can do to you.
|
|
|
Could it be a medical condition?
And so it was to Mill Studio where we were greeted by Jonny, the big boss (hence the stance . . . we think !!)
After the greeting ceremony (traditional Norfolk we were told) it was off to work. Set up drums, then bass, keys and finally guitar and vocal. . . Indy insists that studios always save the best 'til last !
Four hours after arrival we were recording the first track, damned good going we thought.

Don't worry . . . just part of the greeting ceremony!
Assisted by the superb engineer, and excellent coffee maker, Dave; recording went well on the first day and the band recorded seven live tracks, which was pretty exhausting.
The second day saw the rest of the tracks completed and all sax, percussion and harmony parts added. Another superb day!
Massive thanks to Jonny and Dave for being brave enough to record a band live and for all their help and suggestions. Indy is returning to the studio for the mixing phase and we are all looking forward to the end result.
And the moral of this little tale, children, is:
. . . practise hard at becoming a musician, rehearse lots and lots, choose the right people and you too can record a complete CD in just two days without midi, quantisation and lots of effects, in order to bring the true spirit of music to your recording. . . the end.
